Managing Project Manager - Workday

Summary:

The Managing Project Manager is responsible for leading a project team, assigning individual responsibilities and enforcing accountability as designated in the Statement of Work. The Project Manager will manage projects within the agreed upon contract budget as well as maintain on time delivery to the agreed upon contract schedule. They will maintain standard project management documentation and metrics with limited direction, and work directly with internal and external client counterparts, other project leads, and ongoing operations to deliver successful implementation and manage scope.
Outside of regular department activities, you may be pulled into mini-projects related to various Syssero Inc business needs in alignment with your passions, strengths, growth opportunities, and overall needs of the company. The employee will demonstrate an overall average rating of 3 or higher in interpersonal skills defined below. The Managing Project Manager will connect with their management team to develop Quarterly Rocks (personal and department goals) that will help develop their professional skills and further their career. Successful and timely completion of Personal and Departmental Rocks may impact merit bonuses, eligibility for promotion, and more.

What you’ll do:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. ● Management of multiple Phase X Workday projects and/or Workday Launch projects using the Workday Methodology.
● Successfully kickoff engagements with the client communicating timeline, deliverables, and logistics.
● Manage the engagement within the package level and timeline.
● Oversight of ticket execution and maintenance in our ticket management system ensuring adherence to SLAs/internal process.
● Obtain project plan approval from the customer and agree upon acceptance criteria for project stages and deliverables as needed.
● Evaluate and track risks, develop mitigation plans, and execute mitigation plans for engagements.
● Provide account status to both internal and client stakeholders.
● Represents Syssero to customers and other external sources in a manner that is consistent with our mission, values, and culture.
● Identifies, quantifies and forecasts variances to budget, scope and schedule. Oversee the implementation of corrective actions when necessary.
● Manages changes to the account and/or project scope, budget, and schedule. Document changes, update project plans, and facilitate customer acceptance.
● Establishes and maintains client relationships. Communicates feedback to leadership on client escalations and satisfaction when necessary.
● Formalizes final acceptance for the account and/or project and completes necessary closeout activity both internally and with the client.
● Use appropriate and creative techniques to gain, maintain and improve customer long-term relationships.
● Celebrates, either formally or informally, the accomplishment of goals.
● Contributes to knowledge management capital through activities such as sharing documented lessons learned, documented deliverables, and facilitation of Knowledge Transfer workshops.
● Take initiative in identifying possible break/fix, optimization, enhancement and project items regarding accounts
● Work with company leadership to ensure that appropriate resources and tools are assigned to the project.
● Measures and forecasts project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
● Effectively manage accounts and resources with our project management software.
● Participate in sales to service transition meetings.
● Manage and present client kick off deck, weekly meetings, quarterly reviews, project plans, and cutover plan.
● Track internal/external tickets, submit contract changes, resource changes on accounts, escalations, client resource updates, and general IT requests in ticket management software.
● Understands Syssero’s quality standards expected for AMS engagements, Workday Phase X implementations, and Workday Launch implementation
● Monitors and manages work of project team members, providing feedback and coaching as appropriate.
● Identify and communicate the role assignments and deliverables to the internal project team.
● Ensures a common understanding by setting expectations aligning stakeholders and team members.
● Provide oversight and direction to your team in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures. Ensure proper follow through of required policies and procedures
● Lead your team to success in their job responsibilities
● Setting goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with company’s plans and vision
● Organizing workflow and ensuring that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks
● Monitoring employee productivity and providing constructive feedback and coaching

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Travel required

  • <25% travel. Regular travel consists of at minimum two, in-person, all staff events, one of which is required to attend in person. The location of these will vary depending on agenda, number of staff, and the ultimate goal of the event. Travel will be overnight for multiple nights. In addition, there may be client-related travel or other Syssero related travel as needed. All arrangements are company paid.

Education and experience

  • 3-5 years experience in software solutions industry. Four-year college or university program certificate; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional eligibility requirements

  • Workday Environment Experience: 2-3 environments

Work authorization/security clearance requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
